Rapper and producer will.i.am took to Twitter over the weekend to complain about being kicked out of an United Airlines lounge. While the Black Eyed Peas member didn’t give away his location, he started off his Tweets by writing “#unitedAIRLINES is the worse” and later posted that despite being kicked out, a United pilot asked to take a picture with him.

The airline later issued a statement referring to will.i.am as “the customer” and claimed that he did not meet the criteria for entry into the Global First Lounge. United’s statement is available below.

“We invite only customers travelling in United Global First, customers with Global Services status traveling in United BusinessFirst, and customers traveling in first class on other Star Alliance carriers to visit our Global First Lounges. Since the customer did not meet these criteria he did not have access to the lounge. We are reaching out to the customer and appreciate his business.”
will.i.am is currently acting as a judge on the Australian version of the televised talent series The Voice.
Speaking with Yahoo! Finance last week, will.i.am commented on the recent news of Apple’s possible Beats Audio acquisition. “Beats is an answer to a void growing in our industry,” he said. “CEOs and musicians forgot that music has always been about hardware and technology.”
