Drake: "Jay Z Is Somewhere Eating A Fondue Plate"

Drake refers to Jay Z during the telecast of the Brooklyn Nets' game against the Toronto Raptors.

Drake, an ambassador for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which includes the NBA's Toronto Raptors, the NHL's Maple Leafs and the MLS' Toronto FC, referred to Jay Z during the telecast of the Raptors' game against the Brooklyn Nets, a team Jay Z was once the minority owner of.

“Jay Z is somewhere eating a fondue plate,” Drake said. “It’s our time. We’ve got to keep it competitive. This is an ironic match-up.”

The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 94-87 and are up 1-0 in the playoff series. Game 2 is scheduled for April 22.

Drake's work with the Toronto Raptors has been the subject of many headlines this year. In January, the rapper hosted "Drake Night" at the team's January 11 match against the Brooklyn Nets. Drake participated in the game's festivities in a number of ways. The rapper co-hosted the halftime festivities, spoke during the pre-game show and introduced the Raptors' starting line-up.

Jay Z relinquished ownership of the Brooklyn Nets in 2013. "Being a member of the Nets organization surpassed some of my greatest ambitions," Jay said at the time. "It was never about an investment; it was about the NETS and Brooklyn. My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun. I’m a Brooklyn Net forever."

Drake and Jay Z have traded barbs this year. During his February Rolling Stone interview, Drake criticized Jay Z for making references to art in his raps. Jay Z later responded to this on Jay Electronica's "We Made It," saying, "Sorry, Mrs. Drizzy, for so much art talk."
