Coachella Weekend Round-Up, Day 3 Live Stream
An OutKast reunion and cameos from Jay Z and Puff Daddy during Nas' performance fill out the Coachella weekend.
As the first weekend of the Coachella music festival in Indio, California draws to a close, the day’s performances are now available in a set of three separate streams.
Earlier in the weekend and despite a large dust storm that rolled through on Saturday, an OutKast reunion and Nas’ celebration of twenty years since the release of his debut album Illmatic brought some of the festival’s biggest crowds on the Hip Hop side of the performances. Alongside bands Arcade Fire and Muse, OutKast’s Friday night performance served as one of the festival’s headliners. The first collective performance from the Atlanta duo in more than a decade, the pair rattled off hits like “B.O.B.,” “Rosa Parks,” and “Gasoline Dreams" and were joined by special guest Janelle Monae. “What we are witnessing tonight is history,” Monae said during the set according to Billboard. The performance featured both artists performing together and then separately for a portion dedicated to material largely culled from their 2003 double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. A full stream of OutKast’s reunion performance is available on HipHopDX.
On Saturday, Nas surprised fans by bringing out both Jay Z and Puff Daddy. Performing songs from his 1994 debut Illmatic, Nas segued from “The World Is Yours” to a Jay Z cameo for a performance of “Dead Presidents.” During his performance of a relatively later hit “Hate Me Now,” Nas was joined on stage by Puff Daddy for a joint performance of their 1999 I Am hit single. Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, Chance The Rapper, The Internet, and Jhene Aiko all performed over the weekend at the festival as well. This year’s Coachella festival will continue next weekend after tonight’s (April 13) performances and carry through April 20.
