Timbaland Serving As Lead Producer On Michael Jackson's Forthcoming

Michael Jackson's "Xscape" album will also feature production from Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon and John McClain.

Timbaland is slated to be the lead producer on Michael Jackson’s forthcoming Xscape album, according to Rolling Stone

The album from the late singer, who passed away in 2009, is scheduled for a May 13 release. "Xscape" is the name of one of the collection's cuts.

It is slated to feature eight previously unreleased songs that has been “contemporized,” according to L.A. Reid, chairman and CEO of Epic Records, which will release the collection.

The deluxe edition of the album is slated to include the original version of the songs.

"Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with," Reid says in a statement, per Rolling Stone. "We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world."

In August, Timbaland discussed his work on the Jackson album.  The Virginia producer he said he spoke to Reid in regards to the project and promised “something big.”

guys, MJ called Timbaland back in 2007-2008 that he wanted to work with him. also the deluxe version will contain all the original versions (CD2). CD1 will have the timbaland reworked versions. the next album after this, will prolly contain the songs recorded with Will.i.am (2006) and RedOne (2008-2009). also some Rodney Jerkins recordings from 1999-2002 are left. but the tracklist for "Xscape" is already known (but not yet officially released). since there was a private listening in london. and i can confirm, that it has killer tracks only. its an insanely good album.

Very different from the Aalyiah situation: Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with," Reid says in a statement, per Rolling Stone. "We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world."

You're an idiot. Timbo was Aalyiah's right hand dude. He helped bring her to stardom. M.J had interest in working with Timbo before he passed away. You're dumb!

This won't be good.. Timbo hasn't been shit in a while. Honestly I think this cd would be served better by the Neptunes

So basically these guys can't sell their own music for enough and need to dig up tracks from a dead man who's name actually can sell a record...

This bitch Timbo was crying about Aaliyah's album and now he's doing same shit with MJ. I swear these niggas will rip their asses for the money

Co-sign that. If Timbo was complainin' about Drake being the leading or executive producer of Aaliyah's 'new' album, with Drake havin' nothin' to do with her albums back in the days, then the same goes for him for doin' a Michael album. Sony should've asked Teddy Riley & Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis for production with Quincy Jones being the executive with maybe Rodney Jerkins from the mentioned ones in the article doin' a track for good measure since he was the only one out of that bunch who actually worked with Jackson when we was still here.

I believe there's a reason why michael never released those tracks and im pretty sure he is rolling over in his grave. Like hank said, unless some of that money is going to charity or his kids, I don't think that many people are going to buy it.

Another artist having their work raped after their death. Hopefully some of the money goes to the kids or charity.
