Charlie Wilson Says He Tells Kanye West To "Sit Down & Be Quiet" Sometimes

Charlie Wilson On Kanye West: "When he does something wrong, I'm the first one to tell him that he's wrong, sit down and be quiet."

Charlie Wilson, who has collaborated with Kanye West multiple times, says he can tell West when he disagrees with the Yeezus emcee.

"I'm not patting him on his back," Charlie Wilson says in an interview with Hip Hollywood. "When he does something wrong, I’m the first one to tell him that he’s wrong, sit down and be quiet. I don’t care if you don’t like it or not. I don’t embrace some of the things that he does, and some of the stuff he does, I do embrace, which is music. He's good at that. Sometimes it gets a little out of hand, and sometimes he just says, ‘I’m gonna do this kind of music just to inspire people.’ Okay then say that."

Wilson appears alongside Kanye West on West's "Bound 2" off the rapper's 2013 album, Yeezus. Beyond this selection, Wilson and West collaborated on "All of the Lights," "Lost In The World" and "Who Will Survive In America" off West's 2010 album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

In February, Charlie Wilson spoke with HipHopDX about his longevity and influence. "I look back, I look at it as kind of a cool deal," Wilson said at the time. "When we was recording records as The Gap Band, I didn't have a clue that we'd be around or that we would inspire so many people. I didn't ever think that I would still be here. First of all, I didn't think I would make it this far. Let's just get that straight. I thought that I would be dead a long time ago, but God had a different plan for me."
