Trisha Lum and Nickie Lum-Davis have filed a lawsuit against VH1 and MTV claiming that the premise for Love & Hip Hop was an idea they presented to the networks. They claim VH1 stole their plans for the show in order to create Love & Hip Hop

Lum and Lum-Davis say that they had the idea to make a series titled Hip Hop Wives in 2009. According to their lawsuit, the show was to include women who had been in relationships with DMX, Swizz Beatz, Irv Gotti and Jim Jones. They say VH1 did not take their idea because “they didn’t want a show that would compete with its other reality series, Basketball Wives,” according to TMZ.

Lum and Lum-Davis are seeking an 8-figure judgment, the publication reports.
