This week, 50 Cent was involved in the Top 3 news stories of the week. The G-Unit emcee's confrontation with Steve Stoute and his subsequent Instagram post about Stoute, Rick Ross and Diddy made headlines for three of the most popular stories of the week for HipHopDX's readers.

50 Cent Confronts Steve Stoute At New York Knicks Game

50 Cent's confrontation of Steve Stoute at a New York Knicks game was the week's most popular story. The piece likely stemmed from comments Stoute made prior to the confrontation regarding the emcee during an interview with New York radio station Hot 97. During that radio interview, Stoute said that 50 Cent hasn’t released a hit record since 2007’s “I Get Money.” “He hasn’t had a hit in a really long time,” Stoute said. “I mean, he has not made anything musically that’s changed anything in a very long time. And I feel like he’s always like gearing up for something that never happens. Hopefully, now that he’s independent and there’s no record company to blame, his aggressive content can get on the air…I think he’s trying to get back, but those guys—you know, music is a great platform. If you’re an entrepreneur and you have a—you’re currently active making music. You’re currently active touching people with albums. That it makes it much easier for you to venture into business deals that will become successful using the music to parlay it to get it done. And without having any music that’s meaningful over the last—probably the last great song he’s made was ‘I Get Money’…Kanye’s put out three albums, four albums since then.”

Rick Ross Will Reportedly Not Respond To 50 Cent's Recent Instagram Post

Rick Ross's camp addressed the above Instagram post with a statement to TMZ. "Sources close to Ross tell us there will be no reprisals," the publication reported at the time. "Sources tell us Ross won't retaliate for one simple reason. He doesn't give a crap about 50 Cent or anything he says. He thinks 50 is irrelevant."

Ross responded to the post during an interview with New York radio station Power 105.1. “I mean, was he in his Pimpin’ Curly mode? If he wasn’t in Pimpin’ Curly you know I ain’t really move. Nah, not at all,” he said when asked if he had seen the picture 50 Cent posted. “You know we ain’t got time for that. We winning. Check the scoreboard. We running the numbers up high…Other than that put the wigs on for us. That’s when we enjoyed it and we laughed. Put the wigs on. You know what I mean? Go back to that. Other than that we gon’ keep getting this money.”
