Nike Releases Kanye West’s Air Yeezy II Red Octobers In Surprise Release
On February 9, Nike released its Nike Air Yeezy II shoes, a model of sneakers that had been delayed and anticipated by many. The shoe, which Kanye West had discussed for at least a year, was released as a surprise with a Twitter post. “The Nike Air Yeezy 2 is now available,” Nike’s verified Twitter account said at the time. The shoes were only in stock for approximately 11 minutes. “The Nike Air Yeezy 2 has sold out on http://Nike.com,” Nike said when the shoes were no longer available. The surprise release followed a fallout between Kanye West and Nike, one that had several effects, one of which was West’s transition from Nike to adidas.

DMX & George Zimmerman Boxing Match Confirmed
This news would later be denied by DMX’s publicist, but at the time it was published, boxing promoter Damon Feldman confirmed that X was scheduled to fight against George Zimmerman in a boxing match in a report by TMZ. Prior to the announcement, DMX publicly expressed interest in fighting Zimmerman. “I am going to beat the living fuck out him,” DMX said of Zimmerman at the time. “I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I fuck him right up…Once I am done with him, I am going to whip my dick out and piss on him…right in his muthafckin’ face…Zimmerman is a piece of shit and that’s what he needs to drink.” Despite the initial confirmation from Feldman, DMX’s representative later said that X never agreed to fight Zimmerman, but that it was still a possibility.
