"Off The Bat" is set to focus on popular culture and baseball with co-hosts Chris Distefano and Melanie Iglesias also signing on for the MLB Fan Cave-based show.
David Ortiz, Fat Joe and Sway Calloway have announced Off The Bat, a weekly baseball show set to premiere on MTV2 in April. The program is slated to focus on Major League Baseball and popular culture, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The show is also set to feature Chris Distefano and Melanie Iglesias as co-hosts of the program, which is set to air from the MLB Fan Cave in New York City.
MTV2 has reportedly ordered 30 episodes of the half-hour program. The show, which is the first series since MTV and MLB announced a multi-year partnership in 2013, is set to include baseball players and famous baseball fans both in the MLB Fan Cave and on location.
David Ortiz of the MLB's Boston Red Sox is an executive producer of the series. Other Major League Baseball players like Robinson Cano, Craig Kimbrel and Wil Myers are scheduled to executive produce individual episodes of the program.
