Kanye West Inspires Lily Allen To Name Her Upcoming Album "Sheezus"
Lily Allen reportedly announces her upcoming album title on "The Graham Norton Show."
Lily Allen has announced that her upcoming album is set to be titled Sheezus, a nod to Kanye West's 2013 album, Yeezus, according to Glamour Magazine's United Kingdom website. Allen reportedly made this announcement during a recent appearance on BBC America's The Graham Norton Show.
"It's a confident title choice and a little nod to Kanye West," Allen reportedly said during her interview with Norton.
Kanye West and Lily Allen worked together on "Drivin' Me Wild," a selection that appears on Common's 2007 album, Finding Forever, an album which received a 4.5 out of 5 X rating on HipHopDX when it was reviewed. Allen handles the song's chorus, while West is credited as a songwriter and producer on the track.
Allen has released three singles from Sheezus, "Somewhere Only We Know," "Air Balloon," and "Hard Out Here." "Hard Out Here" was also inspired by Hip Hop. The track pulled its inspiration from Three 6 Mafia's Oscar-winning selection, "It's Hard out Here for a Pimp."
Allen has collaborated with several rappers in the past, including T-Pain, Wiz Khalifa, Common and Professor Green. Allen collaborated with Khalifa and T-Pain on "5 O'clock," a selection released in 2011. Allen and Common worked together on the aforementioned "Drivin' Me Wild." UK rapper Professor Green collaborated with Allen on "Just Be Good To Green," a song off the British emcee's 2010 album Alive Till I'm Dead.
