Charlamagne Responds To Kanye West & Says He Wants West To Calm Down
In his response to the "College Dropout" rapper, the co-host describes West as a "single, bitter bitch."
While performing at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan center, the Chicago emcee referenced his 2013 interviews with both personalities in a short rant. "Ten years of this shit," Kanye West said during the performance. "If I go to a radio interview, shut the fuck up. If you're on your talk show at night showing a picture of me walking with my girlfriend, shut the fuck up...What have you done with the past 10 years of your life, Charlamagne? Sway? What did you do? Fuck these niggas names is? I am Yeezus."
In his response, Charlamagne publicly wondered why the rapper didn’t confront him during the interview. “I just wanna know where was all that when he was here on The Breakfast Club,” the co-host said. “How can ya’ll respect that? How do you get mad after the fact? If you felt that way, you sat here in this studio for over an hour and didn’t say none of that, but now, three to four months later, you ranting about me again. C’mon dog.”
Charlemagne added that West might be better off doing “video blogs.” "If Kanye wants to do radio interviews and he doesn't want the host to talk, he might as well just do video blogs," he said. "I just want him to calm down and not get high blood pressure. And Kim [Kardashian], please go buy Kanye some chocolates or some flowers, some balloons for Valentines. He's acting like a single, bitter bitch right now."
In a more lighthearted string of comments, the co-host joked about the way that rapper pronounces his name. “I love the way he says my name though,” Charlamagne said. “I’m gonna get that on a t-shirt, it’s gonna say, ‘Charla,’ with a hyphen, ‘M-A-Y-N-E’ in capital letters. Happy Valentine’s Day Kanye, you be cool sweetheart.”
In November, Charlamagne referred to West as a "walking contradiction" during the rapper's interview with New York radio station Power 105.1. Charlamagne’s recent response can be streamed below.
