Mac Miller & Rostrum Records Part Ways
Despite the announcement, Mac Miller says Rostrum is his family and the label says Mac is incredible.
Mac Miller has worked with Rostrum Records since the start of his career, but the emcee has decided to part ways from the label that he's been tied to for years. Miller made the announcement via MTV Tuesday (January 14).
"Rostrum is my family," Miller said. "That is forever. No matter what, we will always work together. We moved mountains and I can only see them continuing that tradition. I am grateful for everything I learned and am always here for whatever."
Rostrum also addressed Miller as the announcement was made.
"Mac is an incredible artist and has a bright career ahead of him," Rostrum Records Founder and President Benjy Grinberg said. "We are proud of the historic run that we had together and we will continue to support him in any way that is needed. We wish him nothing but the best in the future."
Miller has sold 5.4 million singles and more than 750,000 albums, according to MTV's figures.
In 2013, Miller released Watching Movies With The Sound Off, which was named a runner-up for HipHopDX's "Album of the Year" category in its Year-End Awards. Beyond Watching Movies With The Sound Off, Miller also dropped Live From Space with The Internet and Delusional Thomas last year.
