In a recent Maybach Music Group promotional video, Rick Ross spoke about the mindset of his camp while working on projects.

“Our top, number one conversation, our number one topic of  conversation is motherfuckin’ music,” he said. “When you come ’round here, if you talkin’ more about anything more than music, you gotta get the fuck out, or we gonna say you talk too much.

Specifically, Ross spoke about the lead single from his upcoming Mastermind album, “The Devil Is A Lie,” featuring Jay Z. “Me and Jay Z in the studio, it’s not just the beat on loop. We talkin’ some shit. We talkin’ some shit, nigga.”

Ross compared the track to “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt,” his collaboration with Jay Z from Hov’s Magna Carta Holy Grail. “After you make a record as big as “YouKnowIGotIt,” it has to be on that level, and I feel that’s what this record is. It’s a dope record.”

Rick Ross referred to the “stats” behind his and Jay Z’s collaborations, which include “Free Mason,” “Hustlin’ (Remix),” and “3 Kings.” “‘Devil is a Lie,’… it’s another one of them records,” he said. “[Jay Z and I are] 6-0, 7-0 on the joints. It’s for the streets. It’s the flows, it’s the bounce, it’s how current and relevant the music is. I think that’s what’s important when you’re sculpting an entire body of work.”

Added Ross, “Everybody around the world embracing this movement, we love you.”
