"10 Hip Hop Tours That Need To Happen," per green-label.com

A "New York Resurgence Tour" and a "Shady Records 1.0/2.0 Tour" are among green-label.com's "10 Hip Hop Tours That Need To Happen."

green-label.com has listed "10 Hip Hop Tours That Need To Happen.”

"Though record sales are down, Hip Hop tours are bigger than ever,” green-label.com says in its article. "Whether it’s hitting the states or taking shows abroad, the live aspect of Hip Hop has never been more present. Whereas Hip Hop tours used to be simply one or a handful of acts doing a few cities, Hip Hop megatours like Rock The Bells have emerged. Hip Hop artists now even have a presence at events like Bonnaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza, and have reached beyond the United States, performing in nearly every continent in the world. The following is a list of ten Hip Hop tours we’d love to see, each with its own particular theme.”

The “New York Resurgence Tour,” for instance, would showcase the emerging artists from the Empire State. "In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about New York hip-hop no longer having the major presence it once did the ‘80s, ‘90s and early aughts," the article says. "The New York Resurgence tour would put the kibosh on that line of thinking, featuring newer artists from a variety of New York’s boroughs like Joey Bada$$ and Flatbush Zombies of Brooklyn, Action Bronson of Queens, and Smoke DZA of Harlem. With a tour stop in each borough, the New York Resurgence Tour would serve as a message to the rest of hip-hop: New York’s not going anywhere.”

Another tour on green-label.com’s wish list features Eminem. "Eminem’s Shady Records has had two very distinct iterations: 1.0 with artists such as D12, Obie Trice, Stat Quo, and Bobby Creekwater, as well as 2.0, which features Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf,” green-label.com says. "Lyricism is the constant that bridges these two worlds, and Eminem’s past and present artists would place on display the skills that made and make them among the most skilled crews to grace the airwaves. With a discography nearly 15 years in the making, there would be no shortage of fan-favorite tracks and artists to choose from for the set list."
