West also denied recent reports made by some outlets concerning West’s comments about Mandela.
On Friday (December 6), The Daily Currant posted a false interview claiming to be with Kanye West. The Daily Currant refers to itself as “The Global Satirical Newspaper of Record,” according to Huffington Post. However, other publications picked up the story and attributed the quotes to West.
In the made-up interview by the site, West said that he believes he is “the next Nelson Mandela.”

“I’m only 36 years old, and when I look at everything I’ve accomplished, it’s the only comparison that makes any sense,” The Daily Currant claimed West said. “By the time I’m 95, I’m going to be a bigger hero than he ever was.”
Nelson Mandela, a South African activist and leader of the anti-apartheid movement, passed away Thursday (December 5). He was 95.
