Pharrell Releases 24-Hour

Pharrell releases a 6-part 24-hour long video for his song "Happy."

Pharrell has released a 24-hour long video for his song "Happy," which has been broken into six four-hour parts.

The video features cameos from several people, including Magic Johnson, Jimmy Kimmel and members of Odd Future.

Pharrell is airing the video on 24hoursofhappy.com

"Happy" is a selection featured on 2013's Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.

2013 also saw Pharrell craft successful cuts for other artists, including Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines."

Likely in part thanks to those successes, Pharrell was named GQ Hitmaker of the Year 2013 on Tuesday (November 19).

In the magazine's profile of the producer-singer-rapper, Pharrell said his songs, specifically "Get Lucky" and "Blurred Lines," were successful this year because they allowed people to have fun.

"Both songs are for people who need a break,” Pharrell says in the GQ profile. “There's a lot of fucked-up travesty in the world. Sometimes you just need a Hallmark card. Sometimes you just need to shake your ass."
