Eminem Sets Billboard Record For A Solo Act
This week, Eminem took the #1 spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Eminem, who released his The Marshall Mathers LP 2 November 5, placed at least four songs in the Top 20 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart as a lead artist, something that has not been achieved since 1964 when The Beatles accomplished this feat.
Eminem’s Rihanna-assisted “The Monster” was #3 on the Hot 100 chart. "Berzerk," "Survival" and "Rap God" landed at #15, 16, and 17, respectively.
"The Monster" marks Eminem’s first #1 song on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart.
In 1964, The Beatles had "Can't Buy Me Love," "Twist and Shout," "She Loves You," "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "Please Please Me" and "I Saw Her Standing There" among the Top 20. The following week, the group had "Do You Want to Know a Secret" in the Top 20. The track replaced "I Saw Her Standing There.”
