Drake Allegedly Drops Future From Tour; Future Sues

Future reportedly suing Drake $1.5 million after being dropped from the rapper's "Would You Like A Tour" tour.

Atlanta rapper Future will allegedly no longer be featured on Drake’s upcoming "Would You Like A Tour" tour and according to the New York Post’s Page Six, Future is now suing the Young Money artist for a sum of $1.5 million for the $40,000 he would have allegedly made for each show.

This latest news involving the Pluto rapper comes just days after he said he was misquoted in a Billboard.com story published in early October. In the story, which detailed a private listening session Future held at the Billboard offices, he was quoted as saying, “Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do.”

Future’s quote was made in regards to Drake’s newly-released third album, Nothing Was The Same, and according to Page Six, it was not taken well by Drake.

“He told his agent either Future gets fired, or he’ll fire him,” said a source while speaking to Page Six.

Shortly following the release of Billboard's story, Future informed fans via Twitter that he was “disappointed on being misquoted.”

While both reps for Drake and Future have remained silent in the matter, Billboard did release a statement.

“We regret that miscommunication surrounding Future’s recent visit, one that seemed clear to us was on the record, may have caused any trouble for the artist,” said a rep for the publication.

Drake’s "Would You Like A Tour" tour is scheduled to start on October 18 in Pittsburgh. Alongside crooner Miguel, the Canadian singer/rapper will make stops in close to 50 cities. As of now, it’s unclear if Future’s slot on the tour will be replaced by another artist.

Although Future commented on making “magic” in the studio with the Nothing Was The Same rapper during an interview late last year, roughly two years ago the two artists were involved in a minor rift surrounding Future’s “Tony Montana” music video, which Drake did not appear in. And according to Future, the Young Money rapper’s absence was a “slap in the face.”

"I was just trying to do a great video, I was trying to deliver what the people heard, what the fans heard and what I’ve seen,” said Future during a 2011 interview with The Source. “Why I choose you to get on my record out of all people? So many people from Atlanta wanted to get on the song. It was basically a slap in my face because they like shit, you should have did someone from Atlanta who get in the video, who wanted to be in the video. and you go outside Atlanta and you get something different."
