Recently on the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards green carpet, Rich Homie spoke with HipHopSince1987 about the remix of his hit and how it came together.
"It really came about like Meek had Big Sean's support," he said when asked about the song. "I wanted Meek to get on it, Meek's not a new artist but he has that young energy so I had to put him on and he showed me a lot of support."
Rich Homie Quan also said that he's been working on a debut album and will release a mixtape before year's end.
"I will drop a new mixtape for the streets before the year is out," he said. "I'm about 30 percent in with the album and I've still got another mixtape coming for the streets."
There has been recent speculation on whether Quan signed with Def Jam Records. According to the single information on iTunes, "Type Of Way" is being sold via Def Jam. The record label also tweeted in support of downloading the hit song.
