Twitter is often used as a public battle ground for rap issues and Saturday (August 7), the boiling tensions within the Brick Squad camp boiled over as Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka and others hinted at numerous group problems.
In an in-depth layout by Complex, it all started Saturday morning when Gucci tweeted “Fuck bricksquad im. Sucka free. 1017,” an apparent reaction to accusations that Gucci Mane paid the lawyer fees for Young Vito’s trial. Vito was eventually acquitted for the murder of Brick Squad artist Slim Dunkin.
Waka and Gucci would exchange fire through out the day on the social media site and were eventually joined by Waka’s cousin Frenchie (who decided to side with him) and Wooh Da Kid, who would fire off at both Gucci and OJ Da Juiceman.

Frenchie accused Gucci of stealing money he owed him after his signing with Brick Squad, but Gucci claimed the money was taken by his former manager, Debra Antney, who happens to be both Waka’s mother and Frenchie’s aunt.
Toward the end of the Twitter battle, Frenchie announced the release of a Gucci diss track, which will be included on Trapaholics mixtape titled Trap Music. Frenchie also tweeted the artwork to the project as well with a caption reading, “Tomorrow official @gucci1017 diss record dropping on @TRAPAHOLICS new Trap Music mixtape stay tuned #BSM.”
The future of Brick Squad is uncertain to say the least. Waka Flocka claims to have little involvement with the group, but does own a stake in the label. Also notable is the fact that Chief Keef and Young Scooter recently signed to the label and have yet to comment on the situation.
