Juicy J Reveals Details Of $50,000 Twerk Scholarship Contest

Juicy J explains the details on how to win his $50,000 twerk scholarship.

After announcing last week on Twitter that he was going to be giving out a $50,000 scholarship “to the best chick that can twerk,” Juicy J has started rolling out details on the qualifications for scholarship applicants.

The Memphis rap pioneer tweeted today (August 29) that the scholarship is for females only.

Yesterday (August 28), the Three 6 Mafia co-founder released a video offering additional scholarship information.

“I want to see a video [of] you telling me or showing me why you deserve this money,” Juicy J says. “I’ll be picking the winner myself out of the Top 10 videos. Listen to ‘Scholarship’ featuring A$AP Rocky off of my album Stay Trippy to get some inspiration.”

Juicy J also offered suggestions on how applicants could increase their chances to win.

“Make sure you share your videos on Facebook and Twitter,” he said. “Tag it @therealjuicyj @worldstar and the #juicyjscholarship to get your friends to vote.”

The scholarship has garnered interest from the mainstream media, including Time.com.

Even though he's holding a contest for the best twerker, Juicy J told New York radio station Hot 97 that Miley Cyrus' twerking ability is second-to-none. "I saw a video and she twerked," Juicy J said Sunday (August 25) during an interview with Hot 97 at MTV's Video Music Awards. "Then when I went on stage and did my show in LA, she came out on stage and showed me what it was. I was like, 'Wow.' Miley Cyrus is the best twerker, hands down. Don't get mad. She knows how to throw that ass. She's the best twerker hands down...She knows how to twerk that ass."

Juicy J released Stay Trippy, his major label debut solo album, Tuesday (August 27). It includes the hit single “Bandz A Make Her Dance" and the Mike WiLL Made It-produced "Show Out" with Big Sean and Young Jeezy and "Smoke A Ni**a."

Today, Mike WiLL Made It tweeted his support for Stay Trippy.

Earlier this month, Juicy J also tweeted that he will be producing a posthumous album from longtime collaborator Pimp C.
