If you don’t know about Kool Keith and his contributions to hip-hop, I would suggest reading Pizzo’s review of Ultramag’s classic “Critical Beatdown” at hiphopsite.com. Moving on…

The Bronx-bred emcee who claims to be from Jupiter, has not released an album with production from the Bay’s Kutmaster Kurt since 2000’s Masters of Illusion with Motion Man. It was seemingly the last album the two would collaborate on after some personal problems arose between the two. Before MOI, the was Ultra “Big Time” in 96 (with Tim Dog), “Sex Style” in 97, and “First Come First Served” in 99 under his Dr. Dooom alias.

Their latest effort, “The Diesel Truckers” (the name of the production team they form together), is a return to what we’ve come to expect from both men. “The Diesel Truckers” drops on August 10, 2004 on Funky-Ass/Threshold/DMAFT Records and is distributed by Warner Brothers’ ADA Distribution.
