Tech N9ne Says Snow Tha Product "Fit Perfectly" On "So Dope (They Wanna)"

Exclusive: Tech N9ne also says that "So Dope (They Wanna)" is similar to his "Choppers" series of songs.

Tech N9ne says he's been looking for a female artist to add to the roster of his Strange Music, a Lady Of Strange, if you will. Coincidentally, the Kansas City rapper's business partner, Travis O'Guin, had one in mind. "Snow Tha Product, Travis has been telling me about her for years," Tech N9ne says in an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. "I never got on her until it was too late. I finally found her on YouTube and was like, 'Yo, she's dope, Travis.' I've been a fan of her since I heard her."

Now signed to Atlantic Records, Snow Tha Product is working on her debut studio album after building an online presence through such releases as Good Nights & Bad Mornings. Even though he couldn't sign her to Strange, Tech N9ne said he wanted Snow Tha Product on a particular song from his forthcoming Something Else album, which is scheduled for a July 30 release.

"I did a song for her album and I wanted a female on 'So Dope (They Wanna),'" Tech N9ne says in his exclusive interview. "Snow Tha Product got that chopper style. She fit perfectly. She did a really good job, man."

"So Dope (They Wanna)" also features Strange Music's Wrekonize, who released his The War Within album last month, as well as Twisted Insane, who appeared on "Worldwide Choppers," a 2011 song from on Tech N9ne's All 6's And 7's album. That cut also featured Yelawolf, Busta Rhymes, Twista, Ceza, JL, Uso and D-Loc.

Tech N9ne says that "So Dope (They Wanna)" is indeed similar to the "Choppers" series of songs he's done, starting with the release of 2007's "Midwest Choppers" with D-Loc, Dalima and the-then Big Krizz Kaliko. The song was included on the Tech N9ne Collabos album Misery Loves Kompany

As the standout posse cut on Something Else, Tech N9ne says he's impressed with the performance of all the artists on "So Dope (They Wanna)." "Wrekonize came and slaughtered it," Tech N9ne says of the Mayday! member's performance on the song. "Twisted Insane just came and spit over everybody like, 'What the fuck?' It's massive, man."
