With the release of a number of major studio albums over the past month, Virginia rapper Pusha T plans on letting the current musical climate return to normal before he treats fans to his debut solo album, My Name Is My Name. The album was initially set for release on July 16, but according to The Clipse rapper, My Name Is My name will now be released a month later.

While speaking with Charlotte’s Power 98, Pusha T addressed the reason behind the change of release dates and made quite the bold statement in regards to his debut as he dubbed the album “the best album of the year.”

“It’s been a lot of music coming out. You got the ‘Ye album, You got the Cole, the Wale. I think Hov’s album is even on the 4th (of July). But at the end of the day, I still stand my ground,” the “Numbers On The Boards” rapper explained. “That’s politics and logistics. My album is the best album of the year… I think the streets are going to have a classic hip-hop album. My Name Is My Name is definitely the hardest album that’s going to come out this year for sure.”

Additionally, Pusha T went on to confirm the list of producers and album features on My Name Is My Name. Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and more will provide their lyrical talents while Swizz Beatz, Pharrell Williams, and Kanye West will handle the boardwork on the project.

Although a record from Kanye did manage to make its way onto My Name Is My Name, Pusha T says the Yeezus rapper didn’t give up the record without a fight.

“This record, man, I’m going to be honest. I had to fight and steal this record from ‘Ye,” Pusha revealed. “I heard the record and I loved it, and he called to tell me he wasn’t going to be able to give me the record. I ran in the studio real quick and laid a verse to it. I was like, ‘Nah, this is my record already. I already rapped to it. What are you talking about?’ We just went back and forth, and he ended up giving me the record.”
