At the top of the year, North Carolina rapper Supastition marked his return to the music scene after a three year hiatus with the release of his The Blackboard EP. During a new interview with KevinNottingham.com. the Carolina emcee further detailed his lengthy break from the rap game and the decision to return to his Supastition stage name after adopting Kam Moye as his rap name for some time.

According to the rapper, the name Supastition is almost synonymous with the creativity prominent during the recording process.

“When I started recording and feeling creative again, it was just more of a Supastition vibe,” he explained. “It was more of that original, just straight spitting vibe that I had always been before that. I just went back to doing what felt natural. And at the same time, I didn’t want to keep using the Kam Moye name because it’s near impossible finding a job now with the Google searches.”

On top of his already released EP, Supastition revealed his plans to release a “true concept album” with Stoupe of Jedi Mind Tricks titled The Inanimate Life.

“There’s a project with me and Stoupe from Jedi Mind Tricks which is a concept album,” said Supastition. “It’s a mixture of Hip Hop and downtempo, just a mesh of a lot of different genres. We formed a group called Vestige, which is what’s left of something that’s not there anymore. We talked about doing a couple concept albums just addressing different stories and this one coming up is called The Inanimate Life. It’s about a brother who is born to an unfit mother and how his life spirals out of control. It’s gonna be a super creative album based around on story. It’s a true concept album.”

There’s no word yet on when The Inanimate Life will be released, but according to Supastition, the album has already gone through the mixing process.
