2013 has been a prosperous year for super producer Timbaland; the urban entrepreneur inked a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint and went into business with Hip Hop mogul 50 Cent and SMS Audio. His work on Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience LP is also having a lot of success at the moment, contributing to his collection of musical milestones. Timbo is embarking on another business venture with mobile technology company MEDL Mobile by investing in their app Hang w/ (HangWith, Inc.), the first live video streaming mobile app.

The app has already reached the Top 30 on Apple’s app store with 100,000 downloads and two million user sessions since March. Hang W/ is a social media platform that enables live, real-time video to be sent from one phone to many and it gives users the ability to monetize the stream. Artists like Chief Keef, DJ Kaskade and more are beginning to broadcast.

“I’ve seen the power of social media and how a simple tweet or Instagram pic can bring awareness to an album,” said Tim in a press release. “I think Hang With takes things to the next level. I believe the entertainment industry will line up behind this application and I intend to be at the head of the line.”
