Brotha Lynch Hung Reveals That Strange Music Offered Him Another Contract

Although his three-album deal is fulfilled, Brotha Lynch Hung is currently in discussions with Strange Music about more albums with the "Snake & Bat."

Sacramento, California veteran emcee Brotha Lynch Hung signed with Strange Music over four years ago, after years of friendship with the label's co-founder Tech N9ne, and Strange West President, Dave Weiner. As has been openly-publicized, Lynch agreed to sign a three-album contract with the Blue Springs, Missouri-based independent label, with plans to use the deal as a place to unveil an trilogy.

Earlier this year, Lynch fulfilled that trilogy. 2013's MannibalLector followed 2011's Coathangastrangla and 2010's Dinner And A Movie. Altogether, the Horror-inspired works told a fictional story of a crazed cannibalistic serial killer, struggling with life, family and the urge to kill. Each album debuted on the Top 200 of the charts, and featured acts like Snoop Dogg, Yelawolf, Hopsin and Tech. The works afforded the former Black Market Records flagship artist a comeback akin to his mid-1990s success with the Season Of Da Siccness album.

Speaking with AllHipHop.com, Lynch admitted that while his current contract is soon ending, Strange Music has already offered to keep the Northern California lyricist on the label roster. "Nine months from now is when I’ll be a semi-free agent. [Strange has] already offered another contract to me." Asked on the likelihood of his staying, Lynch revealed, "I don't know—I haven’t [decided yet]—I’m trying to see what numbers this MannibaLector gets, you know, before I try and make a choice." Regardless, Lynch noted that he is focused on his own Madesicc imprint, which includes acts like longtime affiliate G-Macc.
