It looks like LL Cool J won’t just be hosting the 55th Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday, February 10th.

In a recent report from MTV, it appears that LL will be performing alongside Public Enemy front man Chuck D, Travis BarkerRage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and DJ Z-Trip at the Grammy Awards. The performance is reportedly a mash-up of Hip Hop, rock and EDM.

The Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow spoke about the performance, saying the idea spawned from LL’s history as a host for the Grammy Awards.

“LL is part of our family now. He’s not a hired gun and last year after we did the nominations show we said, ‘Let’s do [something] this year,’ and he was up for it,” Portnow explained. “He represents so much history with his work in Hip Hop…to this day he’s in it, he’s respected for it and we thought, ‘Gee, it’s right under our noses, let’s do something with LL and have a lot of fun with that.'”

Portnow added, “[The performance is] not so much a tribute to [LL’s] music, so much as a celebration of the kind of music he’s been known for and others that have followed.”

Other performances lined-up for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards include Miguel, Wiz Khalifa, Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys and more.
