Joe Budden is looking at a solid debut on the charts with his third direct-to-retail studio LP.

The first-week sales projection for Joe Budden's No Love Lost has been revealed.

According to HHD, the New Jersey native is looking to sell between 25,000 and 30,000 copies of his latest album, which marks his third direct-to-retail studio release.

The LP, which spawned the video for the first single "She Don't Put It Down" featuring Lil Wayne and Tank, features guest appearances from a slew of emcees including Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Lloyd Banks, Fabolous and more. Production comes courtesy of T-Minus, Boi-1da, Cardiak, Sean C, LV and more.

Budden, who released his last digital project Padded Room in 2009 that later dropped at retail, is currently starring in VH1's "Love & Hip Hop" alongside Consequence. He recently confronted the rapper over comments he made about him during a Hot 97 interview.

"You dont know how distribution deals work do you?" Didn't realize I was talking to Barry Gordy over here. The artists have to pay for whatever promotion they have, which is usually none, but the label (along with Epic) combine their resources to co fund the artists. Did you actually think Budden shells out for the features from his own pocket? lol He'd prob owe Wayne $100,000 againsn't the album doing 30,000. Come on now.

Thought this nigga was going to sell like 5,000 to 10,000 copies.

wow i though this was a mixtape gonna pick it up and support good music

How is he selling that much ? I didn't even know this dude had an album coming out.
  • Gangsta Gangsta
Without the TV show, Joe wouldn't have sold this much. People didn't even know he still existed until he popped up on VH1. Joe needs to take this as a loss, and stick to what he knows. Bump this pop, trying to make it on the radio mess. Mood Muzik 4 is the closest he should ever get to "this" type of music. Don't sell your soul for ends my dude.

Those are some pretty solid numbers for an independent album, considering that mainstream albums are barely selling these days. Album is average, but it has got a slew of brilliant tracks.

So now, Macklemore is the new things to discredit independant rapper sales?? SMH y'all trying way way too hard, thats amazing Did y'all know since 2010 E1 never press more than 35k copies for their artists?? Then, since, who on this label sold more than joe budden? 8ball&mg? No! FatJoe? No! Joell ortiz? No! Slaughterhouse? No! DBlock? StylesP or Sheek? No! Cam'ron and vado? No! Devin the Dude? No! Maino? No! SlimThug? No! But yes, u right, budden just did a flop with his 30k cuz MackleMore with a specific fanbase sold more than him Great logic

Be realistic, Mack switched the style up. He went "pop". BE REAL. It worked, but trust it will be his magnum opus. Gansgta Grillz>>>>Guns & Butta Congrats to Joe selling thirty plus the FIRST week, NOT overall sales.

Macklemore isn't exactly pop...I would't call thrift shop pop. It's just popular because he's a white dude and he's rapping about something quirky.
    • Anonymous
macklemore never went pop u stupid fuck. his style is the same as always. its just that he had a funny single that blew up on youtube and got him more fans. but even before that single he had a bunch of fans and was selling thousands of units and selling out shows with thousands of people. do ur research dipshit

honestly i dont get it, if you are going to do those numbers why sell out and try to make a mainstream album. phonies. album has a few good tracks but damn is it on some wanna be radio shit,
  • YESSIR

LMFAO..WAYNE DONT WASTE NO TIME..HE DOESNT SIGN SECOND HAND RAPPERS..DRAKE AND NICKI ALONE CAN ALMOST OUTSELL THE WHOLE RAP GAME BY THEMSELVES..AND THAT TELLS U A LOT ABOUT WAYNE BEING A VISIONNARY
    • anon
Nah. That shit tells you a lot about teeny bop hipster white kids who actually buy cd's with daddy's money...You another one of those lames who thinks record sales is still an objective way to measure success?? You dumb as hell. Its 2013. We have the internet. No one buys shit anymore. Except for teeny bopping white kids. So yeah Drake and Nicki killin git with that crowd. With Justin Bieber and errythang...hahaha

One word, Eminem. That white boy already outsold every rapper alone.
  • Anonymous
He's still going to owe E1 money for those features.
    • lol@u
You dont know how distribution deals work do you? lol They have nothing to do with the production/making of the album...they just take their cut of the sales..all the rest is just outta pocket for Joe.

Why does Steven Horowitz write so much for this site? What the hell is "third direct-to-retail studio release" ? I've heard of movies going directly to DVD, but what the hell else is the album supposed to do? Get played in AMC? Just a thought.

thats more than i thought it would do, and i don't mean that negatively. 30k is pretty good these days
  • Anonymous
All of you hating on his sales are honestly stupid. E1 gives little to no promotion for their artists. The fact he sold 30K isn't bad at all. Labels don't promote anymore unless you're a pop artist. Most of you that are hating are probably Drake or Soulja Boy fans. Smh.
    • DrebinSlevin
Macklemore sold 78,000 week with with NO label and NO promos. Just a good song. Joe doesn't even have a good song. If ever there was a time for a song like Pump It Up or Take A Walk, this was it for Joe
  • Lil B
haha, Buddens man, ur album is a FLOP nigga! dat's what happens when u fuck wit da pretty bitch! ur careers sufferin nigga. How u go from "pump it up" to this bullshit? Lol, keep sufferin from #BasedGod's curse. Feel my wrath! #TaskForce #PinkFlame #BitchMob #ProtectBasedGodAtAllCosts
    • Anonymous
says lil b. and what do drake or soulja boy have to do with anything? like, anything?
  • LI
Album is great...stop hating faggots......if he does mood music type shit it will have no commercial appeal.....he is looking to sell albums and make cake.........he still gives his fans mood musics.......fans are so fuckin stupid it pisses me off......
  • akawyteboy
"Last Day" is the only dope track. Rest of the album is garbage. If I offended you...GOOD.
  • Anonymous
25k-30k with only one single and no video and being on an independent label.. that's really good. Much better then SH only doing 52k lol..
    • DrebinSlevin
30,000 is "okay" all things considered. Joe Budden should be able to sell more. Mackelmore is in the same indie label situation with one single and one video. Much bigger numbers than 30K.
    • Anonymous
Mackelmore actually had at least 3 videos and he was a rare exception for sales when it comes to independent artists. But you're right when you say Budden should sale more, not enough promotion though.
    • Anonymous
Macklemore is white, so of course he'd sell more.
    • DrebinSlevin
Oh man, the market is just flooded with white rappers now. There's a new Eminem every week. /sarcasm Listen dumbass, Mackelmore is the only white rapper besides Eminem that has broken 70k in first week. Fuck, in less than half the time he has made twice the sales of Yelawolf and MGK. He's at 300k with a double-platinum hit. With no label. Eminem's last single to go platinum had Rihanna on it. Am=nd massive marketing. Seriously, nothing else on Recovery went platinum in the U.S. At all. Joe Budden is stuck in the past way of marketing. E1 is stuck in the past, that's why no one sells more than 35k first week. Not because of the "sea of white rappers". Niglet.

Labels are just not in the business to make stars anymore, marketing has changed so much over the years, it seems 90% of mainstream is either lost or not trying anymore. Millions of websites, Twitter accounts, radio stations, tv channels, magazines, ect, but no marketing.

stop trying to apply buddens' failure to the entire industry to cover for him. there a plenty of artists doing just fine.
    • Anonymous
agreed, buddon is a fuck up

lil wayne, a reality show, and hot 97 pumping his shit and joe buddens once again proves... once a loser, always a loser. these numbers wont even cover lil waynes bill. enter joe buddens the reality hoe. stop rapping.
    • lol
      Wayne verse was free.
  • beans
No excuse to have, if he sold 30k on E-one, its a fucking win. Slaughterhouse sold 19k on that label smh.
  • Hendric Famas
he can clap his hands if he sells 1000 units. joe budden is corny.
  • Anonymous
HAHAHAHAHAHA yeah he's doing great. that's why he's arguing with his rat face girlfriend on reality tv for money. wheres slaughterhouse? i thought they were the biggest group in music? if joe wasnt currently on reality tv this sells half. when i watch reality tv in passing i say "who watches this trash" when i see joe buddens sell anything i say "who listens to that trash" the answer to both questions is joe buddens fans joe buddens fans watch him holding ice to his head on web cams, of course they watch him cry on tv and buy his shitty albums
    • Anonymous
      why such a long comment?
  • OUCH!
wow, slaughterhouse 52K major label. joe budden 30k independent, ouch!
