Masta Killa Addresses Potential Wu-Tang Clan Reunion Album

Masta Killa contemplates a reunion between all the Wu-Tang members.

The ever-churning Wu-Tang Clan machine continues, with Masta Killa's Selling My Soul serving as the latest entry in the Clan's storied catalogue.

In an interview with therealhip-hop.com, Masta Killa discussed how he would approach a Wu-Tang reunion album - starting with giving The RZA a lot of deference.

"I think I would let The Abbott be The Abbott really," he explained. "The first five albums out of my camp is all RZA right there, which made individuals successful to the degree that they are. I’m going to let him do what he do [laughs]. I’m going to do what I do and I’m confident that that’s going to be what it’s supposed to be. It’s really never failed, really. If I got The Abbott in the chamber I’m not even worried. I’m just going to come and make sure my rhyme books are sharp."

MK also addressed oft-discussed tension amongst the Rap collective, which has been documented for years.

"I’ll say like this, brother, in all families, even in our personal families there are times when you might have to give somebody some space," reflected the rapper. "My brother, my sister, my uncle, my aunts, my father, whoever! Real family goes through real things. Sometimes a little space and distance is healthy. Intelligent men are going to come together and solve that in their own good time. I’m confident that that’ll happen. I do understand that it does reflect on the creativity of the music. That’s felt within the music because those are all vibrations. I’m in my right frame of mind, brother [laughs]. I’m feeling good and I can’t wait to get it on personally. I’m going to bring that energy to the table and that positiveness will travel throughout everything. To me, I think it’s going to be a positive look."

The WU is done and has been for a long while now. The RZA and the rest of the clan haven't been able to create anything really dope since the "Triumph" joint. And to be honest, I didn't even like "Wu-Forever" all that much and I think it would of been a better album as a single disc album. But anyway, RZA is too busy making shit movies.

wow, didnt like Forever? Hahaha your taste is retarded in the actual retarded way. And nothing really dope since Triumph, what? GFK -Supreme Clientele isnt dope? GFK -Ironman isnt dope? Inspectah Deck - Uncontrolled Substance isnt dope? GZA - Beneath the surface isnt dope? Method Man - Blackout 1-2 isnt dope? And thats only a few not even beginning to mention single songs from all the clan projects since triumph. The Wu isnt done, havent you heard they are FOREVER you tard.

I'm talking strictly WU-TANG as a group albums. "Forever" was the last solid WU album but I believe there was too many filler type tracks on it and it would have been better as a single disc album. If you want to talk solo wu member albums, all those debut WU member albums are obvious classics (Liquid Swords, Cuban Linx, Ironman, Tical etc)... "Blackout 1" is solid but the rest of those albums you mention are mediocre at best! "Supreme Clientele", "Uncontrolled Substance", "Beneath the Surface" are all boring albums. RZA hasn't been able to make any great beats in a long time. I feel like the last classic WU joint was "Triumph" and this is my opinion. I don't give a shit if you like or not, puto.

I really think it would take just one member to step up and bring the rest of the family together, on common ground to continue to stand for the cause they came in the game with. Everybody came up in the group and are not as easy to direct as before

Agreed and it has to be someone besides RZA. Someone in their camp has to step the fuck up and be like okay guys, lets get in the studio all together and you all gotta come with the heat. Someones gotta be a leader besides RZA.

"Im going to bring that energy to the table" Master Killa is one Wu member who has never done that...FACT!! lol Love the Wu though, should be good if everyone plays their position. Even though it should be all RZA...he needs to take into account what sound the other members sound best with...not just go with how he likes it. Cater to the members like a real producer should. Not expecting a classic but as long is it's a banger I'm a happy man.
