Madlib is slated to score Jeff Broadway’s upcoming Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton (This is Stones Throw Records) documentary.
According to a press release, the flick will focus on label founder Peanut Butter Wolf and “explore [the label’s] left-of-center artists, history, culture and global following.” Artists featured in the film include Talib Kweli, ?uestlove, Geoff Barrow, Earl Sweatshirt and Gaslamp Killer.
The reclusive producer/rapper will offer original music on the soundtrack, which will also feature new songs from Stones Throw artists and label classics. The album will be released as a two-disc DVD/CD Collector’s Edition Box Set, and is currently being offered on Broadway’s Kickstarter campaign, ending on November 29th, in exchange for a $50 pledge.
