The Weeknd Promises Fans He Will "Not Disappoint"

The Weeknd pens an open letter to his fans, explaining why he released a video for "Rolling Stone."

The Weeknd has been relatively slow on releasing new music over the past year, last releasing his Echoes of Silence mixtape in December 2011.

After releasing the video for "Rolling Stone," the reclusive singer-songwriter penned an open letter to fans on his site, thanking them for their patience and explaining why he dropped the visuals.

"Because I am a man of few words, I chose to make a viral video to show you how I felt and where I stand," he wrote. "I usually don't like to 'spoon feed' my audience because I grew up idolizing storytellers who tell stories using symbolism, so it was in my nature to do the same."

He continues by explaining what the "Rolling Stone" clip represents, and ends on an uplifting note. "Thank you for your patience and loyalty, I will not disappoint," he concluded.

The Weeknd is currently prepping the release of Trilogy, due November 13th. Read the letter below.
