Rihanna is set to star in the upcoming DreamWorks Animation film Happy Smekday!, based on Adam Rex’s book The True Meaning of Smekday.
According to THR, Ri will lend her voice to the film along with The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons. Director Tim Johnson (Antz, Over the Hedge) is slated to helm the pic, which the studio hopes to release in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The film focuses on a friendly alien race that invades Earth to hide from their enemy. When one alien informs the enemies of their whereabouts, he goes on the run with a teenage girl.
