It’s been six years since the tragic death of J Dilla, and fans will soon get the chance to hear previously unheard tunes from the legend on his second posthumous album Rebirth of Detroit. But that isn’t the only news coming Yancey’s camp; now, AllHipHop reports that Dilla’s mother Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey is establishing a new record label.

This May, Ma Dukes is planning to launch Ruff Draft Records that will focus extensively on putting out Dilla’s unreleased recordings. Ms. Yancey also explained that she plans to sign and release projects from new artists under the Ruff Draft banner.

“We want to make it more feasible to interact with these children, we don’t know how many J Dilla’s we have out there,” she said. “Somebody has to find them…I’m not down for the count. I’m a Hip Hop head and I love it.”
