The Mic Planet Is In Orbit
Sure to be regarded as one of the years premier compilations, “The Mic Planet Sessions” is a collection of some of underground hip-hop’s most acclaimed emcees. Executive producer and industry vet Israel Vasquetelle’s (aka Iz-Real) goal was to make the album “a who’s who” of quality hip-hop.
“I wanted to put together a release that featured many of independent hip-hop’s most gifted artists,” Iz-Real explains. Indeed he did. “The Mic Planet Sessions” includes contributions from Kool Keith, MF Doom, Planet Asia, Royce Da 5’9, Rasco, Bahamadia, Thirstin Howl III, Styles of Beyond and Immortal Technique. In case you haven’t heard Immortal Tech spit, don’t miss your chance.
For a limited time, the CD will come with limited edition “Mic Planet” trading cards. If you ask me, having Kool Keith in his Elvis wig on a trading card is worth the price alone. Be sure to check out “The Mic Planet Sessions” on September 23rd and the review to follow at HHDX.
