Andre 3000 Teams With James Murphy & Gorillaz For Converse-Sponsored Track "DoYaThing"

Three Stacks reemerges to contribute to a collaborate track that cuts across genre lines.

As part of Converse’s “Three Artists. One Song” series, Andre 3000 is teaming up with LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Gorillaz for an original track titled “DoYaThing.”

According to Billboard, the track will be released on February 23rd in conjunction with a new Gorillaz footwear collection for Converse. Previous artists who have collaborated for the series include Matt & Kim, Andrew W.K. and Soulja Boy as well as Santigold, Pharrell and Julian Casablancas.

On collaborating with Three Stacks and Gorillaz, Murphy says, “It was literally akin to a bunch of kids playing with toys until someone else said, 'Ooh!  I like that bit!'… Writing the lyrics was the funniest part...  one person would be mumble-singing something and another would overhear him and ask, 'Oh… did you just sing…' I don't know... some crazy words that weren't at ALL what the guy was singing, and those new, misunderstood words could become the hook for a verse. I loved that about it."
