Loose Links: Casual, The Not-Top 10 Albums of 2012, The Top 25 News Stories of 2011

Casual of Hieroglyphics talks about battling, HipHopWired lists the 10 albums of 2012 they don't want to hear and DX and Complex list the 25 best news stories of the year.

Oakland's Hieroglyphics crew has been a mainstay of the independent Hip Hop scene for over two decades now, and although the nine-man crew released their last album Over Time in '07, the Cali super-group isn't going anywhere. But in the down time until their next album, one member Casual dropped his own solo effort He Think He #RapGod this past November. It's been a long 2011, and over the past 12 months, hundreds of Hip Hop albums have graced the iTunes of DX's staff. Although only 25 of them ended up on our best of the year list, there were countless other LPs that we had to endure, and with the New Year on the horizon, our staff only has more half-baked albums to look forward to. So HipHopWired decided to remind us of the litany of less-than-anticipated albums in store for 2012, from unneeded sequels like Lil' Kim's Hard Core 2: All Hail to the Queen to the host of debuts coming from YMCMB's backseat signees.
