Christmas is coming in five days. We’ve been doing this little countdown each week, and now we’re at the home stretch. This is also the week many people have been waiting for; Common and Young Jeezy both drop their long-awaited projects today. It’s an exciting time for everyone (we think), and as we stated last time, there are some excellent opportunities for holiday gifts in the form of music.

This week, Young Jeezy brings Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition. Back in September, everyone really expected this album to drop. Instead, Jeezy brought out “The Real Is Back 2,” a mixtape that didn’t necessarily tread new territory, but it did hold fans over with some free tunes until he got his Thug Motivation on for the third time. Last week the album snippets leaked, but prior to that we’ve been hearing a ton from this album, most notably the Jay-Z and Andre3000 assisted “I Do” and most recently “Supafreak” with our homie 2Chainz. All of Jeezy’s leaked tracks did incredibly well here on HipHopDX. Let’s see how the album does.

On the other side of the Hip Hop spectrum is Common. His album The Dreamer, The Believer arrives today (peep the review). It sounds like Common really put his all into this project. After taking a break to act, maybe Hip Hop forgot what an adept wordsmith Lonnie Lynn is. It’s time for a wake-up call. This album is the perfect alarm. Let’s not forget the rumors swirling that Nas and Common will be releasing an album called Nas.Com in 2012. That one will surely be a monster if/when it happens.

Some other familiar faces show out for this week as well. Friend of the Wu, La the Darkman brings his album L.A.D. La had this project with DJ Drama called “Living Notoriously” a few years back, and has a song with the same title on his new project, featuring Tony Yayo. Roscoe Dash is also rocking this week with his J.U.I.C.E. EP. Dash has some solid features on the project, including Wale on “Into the Morning” and Big Sean on “Sidity.” Right after Christmas, Hieroglyphics’ own Casual drops He Think He #Rapgod on December 27th. Casual unleashed a super cool cut with Del Tha Funkee Homosapien titled “Deltron Z Meets #Rapgod.”

Once 2012 hits, a few albums are in store. As we mentioned last week, Juvenile moved Rejuvenation to January 17th. That one should have hit the streets by now, but now Juvi fans get it after the new year. In other new year news, Cam’ron plans to drop a new album in April of 2012. Just when we got Boss Of All Bosses 3, (check the snippets), Cam leaves Vado’s side and announces a new solo endeavor. Hopefully we that project very soon.
