Asher Roth Signs To Def Jam/Loud Records, Sophomore Album Slated For 2012
UPDATE: Asher will remain with Steve Rifkind, as Loud Records makes a return under the Island Def Jam umbrella.
Following his stint on SRC Records, Asher Roth has signed to Def Jam with plans to release the follow-up to 2009’s Asleep in the Bread Aisle.
Additionally, the “I Love College” rapper will release his new mixtape Pabst & Jazz on December 21st. Check the news below (via Elliott Wilson).
UPDATE: SRC Records CEO/founder Steve Rifkind has tweeted that Asher Roth will remain under his label umbrella. Asher's sophomore release will be a joint venture between Def Jam and the Loud Records imprint Rifkind founded in the early 1990s. Loud was home to the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, Alkaholiks and Pete Rock, among others.
