NBC Nitecap recent caught up with G.O.O.D. Music star Big Sean on the North Carolina leg of his “Finally Famous Tour.” During the interview, Sean talked about working with Kanye West and the mentorship he’s offered him. The Detroit rapper explained that his Chi-Town partner offers extensive amounts of moral support and even told him and Jay-Z that he believes Sean is going to be the next star in Hip Hop.

“He really admires and appreciates the culture and people pushing it forward. I sit and realize how special it was for him to listen to me and actually sign me,” he said. “I remember we were standing next to Jay-Z and he [Kanye] was like you’re gonna be the best rapper, talking to me. You’re going to have your moment like all these people have their moments and be the best rapper.”

Big Sean also talked about what making music offers to him outside of the fame and fortune. He explained that not only does music afford him the opportunity to express himself, but that it gives him the chance to inspire and act as a role model younger people.
