DX News Bits: Shabazz The Disciple, DJ Shadow, Has-Lo

A Sunz Of Man veteran makes a ghetto opera, DJ Shadow announces West Coast tour dates, as Has-Lo revisits his earlier '11 album with J-Zone, Exile and Kev Brown.

Onetime Sunz of Man and Gravediggaz member Shabazz The Disciple announced today that he will release Hood Hopera (Theatrica Biblica) on November 25, 2011. The veteran Brooklyn, New York emcee and Wu-Tang Clan affiliate will release the work through Chambermusik/Fat Beats Records.

A label press release said, "The album is conceived as a  ghetto opera, with various scenes and characters, as their story is revealed. All of this album is  either very rare or previously unreleased, so get ready for what is virtually a brand new Shabazz album, as compiled by Bazz himself especially for Chambermusik."

The work features Freestyle (of The Arsonists) and Snow Goons.

In other news, DJ Shadow has announced a West Coast leg of dates. The Davis, California deejay/producer just released his album, The Less You Know The Better, which debuted on the Top 200 of the charts.

The dates are as follows:

10/20   Santa Cruz, CA   Catalyst
10/21   San Francisco, CA    Regency Ballroom
10/22   San Diego, CA   4th & B
10/23   Los Angeles, CA   The Music Box

Lastly, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania emcee Has-Lo will release his second album of 2011 in Conversation B on November 15. The Mello Music Group release features production from J-Zone, Exile, Kev Brown and label-mate Oddisee. The 14-track work is "re-envisioning" of his earlier work this year, In Case I Don't Make It.
