Free says that his documentary won't just dwell on the negative aspects of the label.
Freeway has spent the last few years on his independent grind, but he hasn’t turned his back on his Roc-A-Fella days. The bearded rapper revealed that he’s currently working on a documentary about the label, telling the imprint’s story from his perspective.
“It’s basically my point of view of Roc-A-Fella. Roc-A-Fella from when I was there to the end up to what’s going on with me right now. It’s my whole point of view of everything, I’m gonna give it to y’all raw,” he told ThisIs50’s Maya The B. “I’m just going to let y’all know how I feel about the situation.”
Instead of dwelling on the negative aspects of the famed label’s history, Free says that his documentary will shed light on how it gave him a second chance and helped out those who were involved.
“They always talk about the negative things - and I’ma talk about that, too - but I’m going to let y’all know about the good times we had. I’m going to let y’all know about the positive things, I’m about to let y’all know about how I was fresh out of jail and I didn’t know where my next dollar was coming from, because I was on house arrest. I couldn’t hustle no more. As soon as I came off house arrest, I got on ‘1-900-Hustler’ and it changed my life. It’s not only me, it’s everybody else that’s form the hood that was part of State Property and how they changed they life too. I’m going to give y’all the outlook on how things is now and everything.”
