Ne-Yo's Compound Foundation And 100 Urban Entrepreneurs To Host Future CEO Academy

Fifty foster care and group home students to tap into their inner entrepreneur thanks to Ne-Yo's Future CEO Academy.

This weekend at Atlanta’s renowned Clark Atlanta University a group of 50 pre-selected students from the Georgia foster care system and group homes will take part in the Compound Foundation’s Future CEO Academy. Founded by singer/songwriter Ne-Yo the Compound Foundation was created by the artist to “empower and inspire youth in foster care and group homes.”

“Frankly, that’s a tall order for a three-day conference, but I can think of nowhere more appropriate and no team more capable than the faculty at the Clark Atlanta University School of Business,” said Ne-Yo in a statement. “They have the intellect, the expertise, the experience and the right access.”

The Compound Foundation’s Future CEO Academy will take place from July 14th to July 16th and can be described as somewhat of an entrepreneurial boot camp that will empower students, challenge them, and also introduce them to various business professionals.

“The purpose of The Future CEO Academy is three-fold,” Compound Foundation’s Executive Director Khalilah Abdul-Baqi explained.  “First, we want to empower students who, too often, are labeled and subjugated as ‘powerless.”  Second, we want to challenge them to create, define and execute their dreams in a real-world context.  Third, we want to expose them to a network of interested business professionals who can share wisdom, expertise, tactical advice and the access necessary to develop their goals."

Students attending the Future CEO Academy will all receive a new Samsung Galaxy Tab. On top of that 100 Urban Entrepreneurs will donate $10,000 to youth business ventures at the end of the three-day event.
