The Clipse's Malice Releases Video Vignette For Audiobook
UPDATE: Malicious drops the first in a series of clips in anticipation of his audiobook's October release.
Currently on a promotional run for his new book Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked, Clipse member Malice is working on a few side projects. The Virginia Beach, Virginia native recently checked in with Karmaloop TV to discuss his upcoming solo mixtape Hear Ye Him, explaining that it won’t delve into the Christian themes found in his book.
“I’m working on a solo mixtape titled Hear Ye Him. I just think it’s going to be so crazy and I’m so excited that I can’t sleep at night. I can’t wait to get these verses out here to the fans, especially those who thought I stopped rapping or I’m doing Christian hip-hop or gospel music or something now. I’m definitely not doing that," he said. "I respect any vehicle that promotes Christ, so I definitely respect, but that’s just not something I do. I don’t think I would do a good service to gospel music or Christian hip-hop.”
He claims that the tape will feature the Malice that fans have come to know and love. “I do street hip-hop, and I think my mixtape is just going to be one of the hardest that you’ve heard. It’s still Malice, it’s still that lyric-driven, thought-provoking, food for thought style that I’ve been doing over the years,” he continued. “I’m just going all the way in now with it.”
Additionally, he’s prepping the release of an audiobook for Wretched, which will feature the actual characters voices from the book. “It’s going to be a great listening movie, you’re going to hear from the actual characters that are in the book, all participating to put out this audio book,” he said. “I just think it’s going to just totally define and explain any questions that may have been unanswered.”
