MTV’s Mixtape Daily recently caught up with Strange Music signee and DXnext alum Stevie Stone at an album signing for Tech N9ne’s All 6’s and 7’s. Although Stone has spent most of his career at the late Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records, he recently signed with Tech N9ne’s Strange Music and is currently prepping his sophomore album Rolling Stone for an early 2012 release. He explained why he ended up signing with Strange and why it’s the perfect situation for him as an artist.

“It was a move that was in my heart,” he explained. “I knew it was the move to make, and I guess [Strange Music] felt the same way. And when the time presented itself, we inked.”

The Missouri-born rapper also discussed how opening a live show for Tech N9ne in 2000 as a high school student helped push him to pursue music. He said that only did his 10 minute performance expose him to Tech’s extensive fan base, but it inspired to keep pushing in his musical exploits.

“That 10 minutes gave me the bug,” said Stone. “A lot of [Tech’s] fans – Technicians, Juggalos – all of them adapted [to my performance]. My name started buzzing around here [in St. Louis], especially in the Midwest on the underground scene.” The full interview can be seen below.
