During this year’s “House That Hip Hop Built: Distinctive Diva Edition,” Monie Love, a regarded 90’s emcee, and Cynthia Horner, an acclaimed journalist, will be honored for their work. The reception, honoring the role of women in Hip Hop culture history, will take place in Los Angeles, California, at the Trina Turk Boutique on June 24, 2011.

Model and television personality Melyssa Ford will be hosting the occasion, which will double as a charity event for Shoe Revolt and their work against sex trafficking. Ford mentioned how proud she was to be a part of this event in a recent interview with Allhiphop.com

“I am proud and honored to have been requested to be the ambassador and host of ‘The House that Hip Hop Built,’ not only because the honorees are women whom I personally admire, but because this event will raise awareness for an unspeakable injustice happening in your own backyard – Sex Trafficking,” Ford noted.
