Police Chief And Doctor Claim Wyclef Jean Was Not Shot, But Cut By Glass
Contrary reports are incoming about the shooting of the former Fugees member.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced of emcee-turned-politician Wyclef Jean being shot in his homeland of Haiti. The former member of The Fugees, and multi-platinum artist was reportedly struck in the hand by a bullet, which was confirmed by onetime band-mate Pras, as well as management.
Less than 24 hours after the shooting, Haiti police officials are dismissing those reports. "We met with the doctor who saw him and he confirmed Wyclef was cut by glass," Vanel Lacroix, police chief in Petionville said in a statement, printed in The International Business Times.
Jean has stated that he is unaware of who the shooter was, or if he was the intended target. The artist's management has already confirmed that he has recovered.
