This morning it was announced that after nearly three months on record store shelves, Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday was the #1 seller this week in America. The Young Money/Universal Motown Records release has officially gone platinum, as well as crossed the domestic million-mark.
This is the first time since Eve’s 1999 debut, Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders First Lady that a female Hip Hop artist has had the #1 album in the country. The Queens, New Yorker took to Twitter today to thank her fans for the continued support:
