As far back as 2008, the Cool Kids were talking about dropping a full-length album to follow up their Bake Sale EP. Since then, they’ve re-entered the mixtape circuit, split from Chocolate Industries and also recorded under Mountain Dew’s Green Label Sound imprint.

Much like their announcement that things were over with Chocolate Industries, the news of the upcoming album also came via Twitter. In October, Chuck Inglish told fans a lack of control and other undisclosed issues led to the end of their relationship with the label. The group did connect with Don Cannon again to release their Gone Fishing mixtape in 2009 and also released Tacklebox in May of 2010.

According to Mikey, the full album, which was originally entitled When Fish Ride Bicycles, will drop in January of 2011. He added that the release schedule may be supplemented by his own solo project as well as another Cool Kids album all within the same calendar year.
