Though she didn’t take the top spot in this week’s album sales, Nicki Minaj is more than happy with the result.

“I feel this weird calm feeling,” said Minaj to MTV News.

Pink Friday, the Young Money emcee’s solo debut, moved 375,000 units – the most sold be a female Hip Hop artist since 1998’s critically-acclaimed The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

“I’m just so grateful and kind of still in shock. These numbers haven’t been put up since 1998,” added Nicki. “It just makes me feel proud of my team, proud of my fans, everyone who has had something to do with my dreams. Finally, we are seeing this dream come to fruition. It feels incredible.”

Minaj was bested by Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which sold 496,000 in its first week.
